The Cantonese Opera Education Enrichment Project invited Yemina Chung (余仲欣) to hold a series of workshops in October for you to learn basic Cantonese Opera singing and acting. Yemina is the founder of YemOpera Studio, she teaches at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and tutors for the Barwo Young Talent Showcase Programme, which she is one of the Young Talents.

The project focuses on the organizing and reviving of The Essentials of Strings and Vocal Music (1916) by Yau Hok-chou, a major figure in Cantonese music. The Shaw Prize 2022 Award Ceremony
This year, The Shaw Prize Foundation will pay tribute to six Laureates at our very own Shaw Auditorium as the event venue partner. For another year, the Ceremony will be held in a virtual format with no live audience for safety reasons and all laureates will receive their awards in their home countries.  The Ceremony will be live-broadcast on September 29 (Thu) at HKT 18:00 (GMT 10:00) via The Shaw Prize's website, Facebook page and YouTube channel. Moreover, The Shaw Prize Lecture in Mathematical Sciences will be held at the HKUST on September 30.

“Zero to Hero” features the story of Hong Kong’s twelve-time Paralympic medallist, Mr. Wa-wai SO, on how he overcame his physical limitations and achieved success. After the film appreciation, director of the movie, Jimmy Wan, will deliver a post-screening talk.

In addition to curating vibrant programmes to the students and staffs at HKUST for enjoyment, the Shaw Auditorium supports a variety of university-wide events to promote students’ development at the University and to utilise the versatile facility at Shaw Auditorium. The annual Career Mosaic organised by the Dean of Students' Office will happen for the first time in the Shaw Auditorium in mid-October, and so will the annual Information Day be held by the Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions Office in early November.
